Family Engagement Policy

Waimea Elementary recognizes that a child's education is a responsibility shared by the school and the family.  We, therefore, welcome and encourage family involvement.  We actively seek family representation at our School Community Council meetings.  We pledge to promote meaningful two-way communication, to establish programs and practices that reflect the needs of our students and their families, to provide for family participation in decisions that affect their children, and to build supportive partnerships between the home and school to improve student learning and achievement.  We encourage parents to take and active role in their child's learning.  Please join us for all family events, parent workshops, student conferences, etc.  PTSO is also another way families get involved.  Please contact our PCNC for more information on how you can get involved at school.
