Waimea Preparation - Emergency Preparedness Fair

 Saturday! August 19, 9am-12noon
Location: Kuhio Hale - Dept. of Hawaiian Home Lands (64-756 Mamalahoa Hwy.)
This is a free event. No smoking. No alcohol.

Indications are that almost 60% of our community hasn’t had a second thought about a disaster happening here. (source: FEMA)
Could we have a disaster here??? Is it possible? You bet. Let’s get prepared!

We’re currently building excitement and interest with social media, posters, banners, word of mouth and announcements at local businesses and venues.
What’s available in our community during a disaster? What can you do to protect your family? What can you do now? Find out at the emergency preparedness fair.

Many companies, government agencies and community members have gotten together to showcase some tips, information, and tools that you might find useful in an emergency.

The event is made possible by donations and support from: Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) members, Red Cross Disaster Services, Waimea Fire Department & Paramedics, HELCO, Mauna Kea Beach Resort, KTA Super Stores, North Hawaii Community Hospital, Dept. of Hawaiian Home Lands, Six Eagles Hawaii, Emergency Essentials, Costco, The Waimea UPS Store, Sunrun, Thrive, Ready Store, The Home Depot, Kaleau Electric Corporation, and several enthusiastic community members.

Many of the donors are also exhibitors and/or doing demos and mini workshops.
