The Department of Education announced today that neighbor island schools will follow schools on Oahu and begin the year in a distance learning model. What this means for Waimea Elementary school is that next week August 17-20, students will physically return to campus on a coordinated and scheduled basis, to connect with their teacher, receive training on the distance learning platforms, and address issues with connectivity and access to technology. We will finalize this schedule tomorrow (8/12/20) and send it out via email and post on our website. From August 24 to September 11 full distance learning will be implemented and students will be learning from home. This new development does not affect our learners who have elected distance only learning for the semester. The scheduled pick up of devices for those students will still occur on Saturday August 15, from 9:00-3:00. Thank you for your flexibility.
